AMD is putting some focus on the capability and processing power available from its GPUs by releasing a new version of its stream software development kit, along with some additions due in the 8.12 version Catalyst driver (due in December). That driver release will include the launch of a new Avivo video converter tool that, much like similar software available for NVIDIA cards, will provide greater performance then relying on CPU power.
