AMD has unleashed the Phenom II (we hope to have our review up in a few weeks). The results were, shall we say, somewhat unexpected. According to Hard OCP:

As we reported earlier, AMD has officially announced its first round of 45nm desktop processors. The Phenom II X4 920 runs at 2.8GHz and the Phenom II X4 940 is clocked at 3.0GHz.
