Hot Hardware has published some benchmark results of the upcoming Corsair P256, this is a new 256GB SSD with the Samsung S3C29RBB01-YK40 controller. The reviewer tested the drive in HD Tach and came up with average read speed of 209.8MB/s, average write speed of 169.1MB/s, random access time of 0.1ms and burst read speed of 248.2MB/s. No word about random write performance though, and that's one of the things that really makes or breaks SSDs. ...

Image To retail at $749 Back in January Corsair finally jumped the SSD bandwagon with its 128GB MLC Samsung based SSD. The guys from HotHardware.com managed to get a sneak peak of Corsair's upcoming 256GB SSD which will also use Samsung's controller and MLC NAND flash chips. According to the initial HD Tach tests, the new SSD, dubbed P256, will offer read and write speeds of up to 209,8MB/s and 169,1MB/s, along with a 0.1ms random access time, as well as an impressive 248,2 MB/s burst speed.
