... not so long ago. The GT 220 is a bit more serious and features 48 stream processors, a 128-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR3 memory. It works at a higher 615MHz clock for the core, 1335MHz for shaders and 1580MHz for memory. Same as the G210, the G220 has DVI, HDMI and D-Sub outputs and features active cooling. Both of these cards should start popping up in various systems pretty soon, while the consumer oriented parts will have to wait a while. You can check out the G210 here while the GT 220 can be found ...

40nm desktop GeForces appear on Nvidia website by Cyril Kowaliski 10:48 AM on July 8, 2009 Yesterday, the Taiwanese rumor mill suggested that two desktop GeForce graphics cards with 40nm GPUs would launch in September. That was incorrect, apparently: information pages that correspond exactly to the rumored GPUs have already appeared on Nvidia's website. The company provides specifications and images for the GeForce GT 220 and GeForce G210 . Both cards look like budget offerings with much more spartan specs than AMD's Radeon HD 4770 . Both ...
Nvidia Details Desktop DirectX 10.1 GeForce Chips at Its Web-Site
X-bit labs —
Nvidia Corp. has published official specifications of its forthcoming GeForce models GT 220 and G210 on its web-site. Currently the company only positions such graphics cards for original equipment manufacturers since their performance is very unlikely to be truly high or sufficient even for occasional gamers. Still, formally, models GT 220 and G210 are Nvidia s first desktop 40nm chips that support DirectX 10.1. The GeForce G210 (GT218 chip) OEM graphics solution has only 16 stream processing units, which means that its performance should be comparable to Nvidia GeForce 9400M ...

... at 1080p, Vista Aero including Windows 7. At least this is what Nvidia claims on its product page. Let's not forget that the card has 16 shaders and maximum power consumption of 30.5W. It comes with a small, black fan and if you want Audio over HDMI you have to connect. The basic gaming includes World of Warcraft, Spore or Sims 3 and this should work fine. We are not sure if this card is faster than Geforce 9500GT, but it should be faster than Geforce 9400. You can read more here .

40-nm Nvidia GPUs may hit stores next quarter

... back in early July, but the product page still bears the mention, "OEM Product." In other words, Nvidia may only be shipping these to PC vendors for the time being. DigiTimes says yields of 40-nm chips at TSMC have improved, though, so Nvidia will soon be able to offer this card as a retail product. Incidentally, word is that Nvidia will drop the "G" prefix and offer the product as a GeForce 210. The same should apply to cards with suffices like GTX and GT. DigiTimes also predicts that Nvidia will release its next-generation GT300 GPU (another 40-nm part) some time in the ...

... the case of the GT 220). Also, Gigabyte's GT 220 has a full-height circuit board with a much meatier cooler that includes an 80-mm fan. Gigabyte tells us its GeForce GT 220 will set you back $79.99, while you can expect to nab the G210 for $44.99. If the specifications above weren't a strong enough hint, the prices are: these are low-end cards that definitely won't dazzle you with silky smooth frame rates at high resolutions. Still, the HDMI outputs and low power consumption (Nvidia rates the OEM-only GeForce G210 for just 30.5W) could make these new offerings good candidates ...
