Ubuntu 9.04 release candidate arrives
Ars Technica — ... the Hardy and Intrepid releases. The situation with PulseAudio has also improved considerably. The server edition, netbook remix, KDE-based Kubuntu (which will ship with KDE 4.2), and several other variants are also in the release candidate stage. The server edition gained support for Eucalyptus—a cloud computing framework. For more details about the release candidate, see the official release announcement and release notes . Overclockers Club news Feed — ... . The Release Candidate is for all intents and purposes the final release, with a small chance that it will be changed to fix some bugs. Jaunty Jackalope will feature the GNOME 2.26 desktop environment and the 2.6.28 Linux kernel. The new kernel contains a version of the new Ext4 file system which is finally stable, but due to glitches will not be enabled by default.
