Core i7 640UM Dual Core Laptop CPU, 1.2Ghz, Turbo: 2.26Ghz!
Madshrimps News RSS Feed —
... i7 640UM looks really impressive. This CPU launches Q1 2010 and will be the king of the ultrathin performance market. It looks like the best mobile chip ever made by Intel, as it has two cores at 1.2GHz default clock but with Turbo it can overclock all the way to an astonishing 2.26GHz. All this can be done under 18W TDP which is a great number considering that graphics and Northbridge part of the chipset including memory controller are also part of this Arrandale 32nm based CPU. http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/16227/41/
Turbo Boost may bring meaty gains in low-power Arrandales
The Tech Report: News —
... , but they don't exactly help if you want a thin, light, and mobile system. That's where Intel's upcoming Arrandale processors will come in: 32 nm, dual cores, and thermal envelopes in line with what Intel offers in current Core 2 products. Fudzilla has gotten the scoop about one of those future chips , the Core i7-640UM. Don't let the name fool you this will be a dual-core offering with Hyper-Threading support. Still, the specifications look quite impressive: a 1.2GHz base clock speed with room for up to 2.26GHz via Turbo Boost, 4MB of L3 cache, and an 18W thermal envelope. ...
