The Wall Street Journal, one of the few publications that manages to get away with charging for most of its online content, has released a free app that allows users to read content on their iPhone, without a subscription. This might annoy Wall Street Journal subscribers who pay $100+ for unfettered online access, but its the way of the world on the iPhone. In comparison, Amazon's Kindle charges $9.99 monthly for access to the WSJ. Of course, the WSJ probably doesn't feel this app will impact the bottom line much.
