... It hasn't even been six months since Netflix first imposed a $1 per month surcharge on subscribers who want to rent Blu-ray movies. Now, the company is bumping its rates even higher for almost all subscription tiers, topping out at $9 per month on top of the normal rate. Netflix says it's because Blu-ray discs cost more, but it could be an indication that Blu-ray isn't bringing in new subscribers like the company had hoped.
