... now been restored with the introduction of the GeForce GTX 295, giving Nvidia a weapon to compete for the performance crown. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 295 dual-GPU graphics card features 1792MB of memory which corresponds to the memory capacity of two GeForce GTX 260 boards. However, unlike the Radeon HD 4870 X2 which is literally two Radeon HD 4870 products stuck together, the GeForce GTX 295 seems to be more of a hybrid, sharing specs of both GeForce GTX 260 and 280 products. ... of a basic Core i7 system for $600 and to be honest there is almost no difference between the Core i7 920 and the $1000 965 Extreme Edition processor, so why not go for the cheaper option? This is exactly what I did a few months ago when building my latest gaming system and the results have been impressive. All of this went together in a little Lian-Li PC-A06B case making for a compact and lightweight gaming system. Also included was a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme cooler and a GeForce GTX 295 graphics card . With limited case cooling this system ran remarkably cool, ...

... or GTX 295 that sell for an additional $100 and $150, respectively. The particular Asus card that we are reviewing (referred to as ENGTX285 TOP by the manufacturer) should deliver a little more performance than your typical GeForce GTX 285 considering it's a factory overclocked model. This may also translate in a higher retail price, likely in the $400 ballpark. Our performance comparison will put this Asus GTX 285 graphics card against ATI's top offerings, the original GeForce GTX 280, the GTX 260 and the dual-GPU GTX 295.

ATI Radeon HD 4890 vs. Nvidia GeForce GTX 275

... with far greater overclocking abilities. ATI has fine-tuned the RV790 XT core allowing for incredible core frequencies. Although the default core speed of 850MHz is a moderate bump over the 4870, many users are reporting overclocks in the order of 1GHz and beyond, which makes for an interesting update. The GeForce GTX 275 is also a derivative from an existing product, borrowing its GPU from the GeForce GTX 295 , which is a dual-GPU graphics card. The GTX 275 uses a 55nm GPU featuring the same amount of SPUs and TAUs as the more powerful ...
