Panasonic is one of the few companies using AVCHD Lite, a variation of the system used by expensive high-def camcorders such as the Canon Vixia HF S10. Available also in the $349 Lumix DMC-ZS3 and the GF1, AVCHD Lite is not as good as true AVCHD, but the quality is a cut above the competition.
